*Beggars Chicken*
Chen Zi huffed and pinched her temples at the sight of the messy blood splatters on the walls behind the tavern. Laying next to the blood were eight decapitated chickens, tied up together and laid against the wall.
"Ā yí..." She dragged out the name as she lowered herself into a squat to observe the blood. "It stinks." She shook her head and retreated into the tavern to give Dou Wei an earful.
Since it was still early, the tables were meant to be vacant and the place, empty. However that was not the case, Chen Zi paused in her steps when her eyes landed on a man in a rice hat.
Dou Wei called out to her upon seeing her, "Go get Sister Lihua."
Chen Zi stood in place, perhaps to ask about this stranger but ultimately kept quiet when she noticed a blood stain on his robes. Quickly, she dashed for the main kitchen, where Lihua was busy prepping the main ingredients.
