The general stood in front of Yu Xiaoguang's room, he had heard from the servants that neither Yu Xiaoguang nor his daughter had stepped out of their room the entire day. He held in his hands a tray which had a bowl of porridge and some freshly boiled corn.
Without knocking, he stepped inside, half expecting to see Yu Xiaoguang with a messy bed hair and a fresh morning face. The grin on his face flattened when his eyes landed on Da-Xia, who was busy mirroring the Yoga poses her father usually did in the morning.
"Lemon Gege!" She excitedly cried out, breaking out of her position to hug his knees.
The general looked around for Yu Xiaoguang but could not lay his eyes on him anywhere. He turned to the smiling child and crouched down to her level.
"Where has your Bàba gone?" He asked, Da-Xia parted her lips to tell the truth, that she hadn't seen him all morning. Yet, when her nose picked up on the scent of boiled corn, she rethought the decision.
