Content with what he heard, the lieutenant dropped the arrow on the table and made a move to leave. A confused Ruolan nervously scratched the back of her head.
"Lieutenant Shen?" She called out, Shen Shaojie halted in his steps, "I'm going to report this to the general, then to the consort." He said, answering the question on her mind.
Ruolan swiftly ran over to where he stood, blocking his path, "What?!" She widened her eyes, stunned that was his initial thought.
The lieutenant in turn raised a brow, wondering when a mere maid thought she could block his path. "The current madam Wang deceived not only the general but the noble consort. It's only natural that I expose her deceit." He explained in a flat tone.
Ruolan bit her lower lip, a conflicted look settled in her uncertain eyes, "That is true, but then all Ju had done up till now would be for nothing." She defended, timidly gazing at the unfazed man.
