The journey started no sooner after Dou Wei boarded a separate carriage. Since she didn't want to be alone, she had Mei Deng and his daughter ride with her to pass the time.
"What's your Māma like? Just what kind of woman charmed our beauty's eye?" It came as a shock to learn that Da-Xia belonged to Mei Deng. And although she didn't want to believe it, she did see some sort of resemblance between the two.
Da-Xia pushed her index finger to her cheek, "Why is everyone so interested with māma?" She voiced out.
Dou Wei smiled, "that's because your Bàba used to have someone else, so it's come as a shock." She explained.
"Are you Bàba's old friends?" She sheepishly asked, looking animatedly out the window, as they marched through the capital gates.
"Old?" Dou Wei's face twitched, "I'm still a young maiden you know." She retorted, nervously scratching the back of her head.
