Mei Deng stood in front of Tingting's carriage, holding a box of medical tools that belonged to the physician. He had been standing outside, contemplating whether or not to knock.
'I don't want to see her again, but if it means I can ask about Ju, it wouldn't be too bad.' with that resolve, he attempted to knock on the door, only for the doors to open themselves.
A young servant girl came out holding a small bowl with red liquid, Mei Deng couldn't mistake for blood. He peered behind the girl to see Tingting gasping for breath, her jaw stained with blood.
"Are you the physician the young master said would heal her? Please help the mistress." The servant girl asked with expectant eyes.
Mei Deng simply nodded, the girl sighed in relief then stepped aside, "She started coughing the entire night, and hasn't stopped ever since." She said, watching the shabbily dressed physician step into the carriage.
