The room fell silent, as neither Tung nor Tengfei said another word, as though they allowed the gravity of realization to settle in proper.
What Tung had just revealed meant two implications. "I see, so you mean that your father murdered a man to bring back a dead man?" The general interpreted, unknowingly getting on the youngster's nerve.
"It was to save the village! The bandits had surrounded us on all sides, our village was always a peaceful one. There was no way we could have been able to defend ourselves." Tung explained, curling his fingers into fists.
The general did not seem convinced, "Justifying a murder just proves how naive your mentality is, and I'm not interested in tossing ideologues around. What I'm really interested in, is how this thing works. Tell me, how do you summon the dead?"
Outside, Mei Deng found himself growing more interested in the story that he imagined.
