*Some Hours Earlier*
Biyu sat beside her husband, helping to peel fruits, whilst their servants gave him neck rubs. He had an angry expression on his face, which was a mismatch, to the joyful tempo of the festival.
Just as she made a move to pass him a fruit, two messengers came inside, and fell at her feet.
"Madam, there's a woman and two children outside, they insist that they must see you. Do we let them inside?"
Biyu clicked her teeth, "It has to be that Lian how dare she come knocking on my gates? Send them away!" The woman cried in an offended tone.
Her rash manner caught her husband's eye, he waved his hand, shooing away the young women.
"Who is this Lian?" He asked in an irritated tone, Biyu swiftly chipped in. "You remember that drunken fool who used to work under the village chief. That same one who was caught in an embezzlement scheme, Lian is his miserable wife. Her husband has been dragged away and now she's come seeking allies."
