The streets turned empty no sooner after the village bell was rung, announcing the start of the kite flying competition. The wind grew stronger, as a wide variety of kites took the skies, painting it different colours.
No soul was found wandering the streets, save for three women in matching cloaks, seeking their prey.
"I didn't think that the streets would be this empty, what's so good about kites anyway?" Ah-kum asked, looking at both sides of the streets, which lacked people and even small animals.
Ah Cy pinched her cheek, "It's a big event, look! Everyone is on the rooftop, and there are so many kites in the sky, naturally no one would be here."
Ah-kum used the side of her fan to whack her sister's head, "That doesn't explain anything, won't there be only one winner? So why are these people all giving it a shot?"
