Mei Deng lost all colour in his face upon hearing Bingwen's words, he hadn't even considered how much of a shock the news would be to Bingwen. In contrast to Da-Xia who was younger and could have things explained to her, Bingwen was older and had more experience.
He had already formed his opinion of an ideal family, and sadly in this era there weren't many chances to prove him wrong.
"You silly!" Da-Xia announced and pulled his ear, since she was standing on a stool she could reach him without having to stretch much.
"Bàba and Māma are still our parents, but Bàba has a husband. It's easy really." She snorted.
Bingwen sighed and slapped his forehead, "Forget it, you're too little to understand the nonsense you're saying. Instead tell me where you heard this crap."
The child harrumphed and looked the other way. "Give me your chicken tomorrow and I'll tell you."
