Chan Zian could see the stun on Ming Baozhai's face and knew the man was not in a right frame of mind, hence he grabbed him by the arm and pulled him away. He dragged him behind a cart transporting hay which stacked up to half their height, keeping one eye on his targets, he helped Ming Baozhai into a crouch position.
From where they squatted they could see clearly what was happening, and by the look of it, Ming Huiqing had just met up with the minister of War.
"I can't hear anything." Ming Baozhai stated in dismay, he watched his sister grin widely but he had no idea what the old man was telling her.
He watched with keen interest until Ming Huiqing got into a seperate carriage which had just arrived to pick her up. Once they were gone, he made a move to follow, but was held back by his cohort.
"Don't be hasty, if you go after them now you'll achieve nothing." Chan Zian said, holding onto the man's wrist.
