After his blunder, Mei Deng decided to hide out inside and not come out of his quarters until the new date for the divorce trial was announced. He also planned to avoid seeing the general, but when he heard that Wang Tengfei had summoned him to his quarters, he began to panick.
He paced around the room thinking of whether or not the general had heard about his mistake when facing the Huang family. He hadn't planned on tarnishing the family name that badly, it was just an honest mistake.
His thoughts were disrupted by a knock on the door. He wasn't expecting any guests at the moment, nor did he know a handful of people in the area.
'Who would come to see me at this time of the night?' he couldn't help but think as he walked over to the door and pulled it open. He peeked out the door, only to see Kuangren waiting for him.
