The way back home was long and quiet, Mei Deng stared listlessly out the carriage window, his eyes darkened. After what Chan Tao had told him, he couldn't bring himself to say a single word. He sat silently, brooding over the situation, until the carriage suddenly came to a halt.
"What's going on?" He managed to ask, just noticing the amount of people and carts that stopped as well, concentrated around something in front.
The general made an attempt to go check but was beat to it by Fu Bao, who scurried from the rider's seat to come report the situation.
"General!" He called, out of breath, Mei Deng could tell that he must have just ran forward and then came back.
"Speak." General Wang said, instinctively resting his hand on his sword holster.
Mei Deng inwardly shook his head, wondering how Wang Tengfei intended to solve the crisis, when his natural instinct was to grab his sword.
