William stepped out of her hold, flinching a bit when a surge of pain ran through his injured ankle. "If you allow me to see her one last time before I go..." he trailed off. "I will pretend to love and respect you as my mother."
Janet withdrew her hands that were hanging in the air after he stepped away from her. She lowered her head, "Would you believe me if I told you I love your big sister?"
"I know you're a liar, mom," Willam started. "If you loved her, you wouldn't have put her in that box. Do you know how much she is suffering? She loved you and you betrayed her."
"Sometimes mothers have to lie and do horrible things to protect their children," she told him before turning away. "When you have children of your own you will understand, but for now you are too young to."
"I wouldn't put any of my children in a box," William muttered, but his mother heard him.
