The lamia, disguised as an ant, continued along the dark path with Anabel closely behind. The red-haired vampire anxiously looked left and right with each shuffling of the bushes or howl of the wind. She could hardly hear what the lamia was saying, her heart was beating so loud in her ears!
"Have you ever heard of the emperor of Hell, silly girl?" the lamia questioned.
Anabel looked at the ant some distance before her with furrowed brows as she repeated in her head, 'The emperor of Hell?' She's never heard of any emperors; Oliver told her Elias was the king when they lived in the underworld.
"Wasn't Hell sealed after Elias' rampage?" Anabel questioned with confusion etched into her features. "And Oliver never told me about any emperors."
