Officer James' vision slowly cleared and it turned out he wasn't mistaken, the woman before him was exactly who he thought she was.
Her blonde hair was a mess on her head and some strands of it stuck to her pale face that was glistening with sweat. Her body was covered with a blood-stained, oversized top of a police uniform that stopped just above her knees, and only some long white socks that have long lost their color protected her otherwise bare feet up to her shins.
In one hand she held a flashlight and in the other, more of the neatly carved wooden sticks like the one wedged in Rose's back.
"You're alive," Officer James started. "Amaira."
As if being woken from a reverie, Amaira blinked a few times with a confused expression on her face. "Officer James?"
