Chapter 14 - You're stuck with me

Luckily for me, Marli was at the gate the moment I from the cab *I was really lucky to see a vehicle the moment I exited the mansion and its creepy owner, and sezy patron*

She paid for my fair, and all but dragged me in through the back gate.

Just like we did when I left, we crawl walked into the house, making sure not to make any noise for fear of alerting the stupid men who were asked to guard me.

Funny enough, those men aren't even aware the same person they were asked to guard left the house today.

In their mind, I'm probably inside the house, either sleeping or watching a movie.

"How was the party? Tell me all the juicy stiffs that happened there."Marli commands enthusiastically.

"If you want something juicy, you could have gone there yourself. Why must you rely on me to tell you stuffs you know you can get the knowledge of by yourself?" I raise a brow at her.

" Come on now, spill!" She darkly glared at me," if you don't start talking already, I am going to call your husband, and I'll tell him what you were up to today." She threatened, her phone in her hand as she made a motion of dialing a number.

"You know you'll be in much more deep trouble than I?" I raise a brow at her, and with my mouth curved aside, I gave her a look. "Not only are you going to be sacked, but you'll end up in the Streets." I stick my tongue out at her.

Should Sly decide to punish us, she's the one who'll get the most punishment. The only thing Sly will do to me is to ask for a divorce, and even at that, I'll still get half of his properties

Everything he owns will be divided into two, and all will be given to me.

"Even though, I'll still tell him if you don't tell me what happened," Marli commands.

" Am only telling you this based on the things you did, and the sacrifice you made just to see me go out."

She might not know this, but I'll be forever grateful to her. Grateful for her support and help in making sure I see the outside world after a year of being cooped inside this mansion with nothing to do.

"Sacrifice?" She scoffed, "forget about it, I love the thrill it gave me when we sneaked out. I've not felt this refresh for years now." Smiling brightly, she commands me to proceed with the narration.

I told her everything that happened, starting from meeting Sezy to the time I met the boss.

"Oh my god!" She squealed like a banshee.

"What?!" I turn to the door to make sure there's no one around. I really won't want anyone else to be privy to this.

"I can't believe my suit made you so damn sexy, you ended up catching the eyes of the owner." She giggles some more," You know, the owner of the mansion is one odd man." She says in a gossipy tone.

" How so?" I ask.

And like that, the gossiper got poor me into her web.

" No one has seen him interact with people outside his business associates. I heard he doesn't have any friends."

" Are you sure he's normal?"

I don't think it's normal not to have at least one friend.

" He is!" Marli hits her hand on the table, her actions startling me a bit.

" Jeez, calm down Marli, you're getting excited." I frown at her.

" Of course, I should be excited. A friend of mine, whom I managed to send to a party, managed to get the attention of the Stony business CEO." She giggles some more, as if there's something giggle-worthy in her words.

"As if." I scoff, removing the suit and the shirt, I placed them on the table together with the mask. "Thanks for today, I enjoyed my night." I smile at her.

I might not have danced as much as I would have loved to, but the ones I danced with Sezy are more than enough.

"Why are you making it sound like you're saying goodbye to the party?" She deeply frowned.

" Of course I am. Tonight is the best night of my life, and I'm happy about it." If only I can be allowed to go to such gatherings, I'll be more than happy.

"Don't tell me stuffs like that." She wags her finger in front of me, "this is a weekly ball, one that takes place every Friday, and you're to go there every Friday."

If only I can be able to pull that off without the risk of getting caught by my husband.

"But I can't!" I sigh, "I really can't."

"And why's that? Did you commit anything there, and were asked to never return?" She raises a brow.

"That's not it, Marli. Being able to go out tonight without being caught is a blessing.

Repeating it twice might end with us being caught. You and I know what's likely going to happen should my husband get to know of this."

" Seeing you this happy and refreshed is worth the sacrifice." She lightly pinches my cheeks, "don't worry, if he's to catch us and sack me, I'll follow you wherever you're going to."

" Don't rely on that." I smile at her.

" So what do you say?" she wiggles her brow, "are we partying on Friday?" She asked, her eyes taking a puppy's look.

"I guess we are." And like that, I fell for her puppy look.

"Yay!" Taking the suit, she ran back to her room while I walked to mine.

Marli surely will be my death.

I discreetly look at Sly, who's watching a movie.

Sitting like a cobbler, I pretend to be engrossed in the boring movie he's watching.

Most times he'll glance my way to make sure I'm watching the movie, aside from that, his entire focus will be on the movie.
