The moment Leah got into the car, her heart started to beat at an unbelievable speed. In case she failed to get out of the car, her heart had full plans leaving her behind and escaping itself.
Her father was livid. And that was scary.
If anything, her father had mastered the art of hiding his anger behind a neutral expression or sometimes, even a smile. For him to show the anger he felt, the rage on his face, meant something horrible had happened and she was in a shitload of trouble.
And since he clearly did not want to start talking himself, she was not going to engage in a conversation or start one with him.
Her second concern was the car she had come in. That was still in the parking lot of the cafe.
