"No," Emily answered after a second or two, "they would not agree if you have him as your boyfriend. I will not agree."
She froze for a moment, processing what her mother just said before Leah gaped at her. "B-but you just said—"
"I said absolutely nothing. I explained to you that I should have known about this, even if it was not serious. That is all I said to you."
But.. she could not be the only one who had read into the situation she did. Her mother had insinuated that they would be okay in accepting her boyfriend with time.
"I have to drive up one day and go away and have my own life. I can't just be a baby and that you all cradle me in a basinet or a pram forever." She snapped.
That seems to have ended the entire conversation. My mother inhaled a deep breath, her expression changed as she did that. They resemble the she knew her father would have if he was having this conversation.
