Remington had arrived after dinner. Emily had made sure to sit with him at the dining table to make sure that he ate. Her husband had a knack for going without dinner for quite some time, as his body absolutely needed it and made its requirement known.
He kissed her right before having his dinner, but she forced him to move away. He would have continued and taken things further on this very table, and at the moment, one of their children was home.
They talked slowly, discussing their day in hushed voices, enjoying the feeling of them, being alone, in their small bubble.
As much as she left her children, she also missed the time where it was just the two of them. Now, since all three of them had grown up and were out of the house, most of the time, it had come back, but also with the feeling of being empty nested.
