Chapter 38 - [Bonus chapter] CH. 38: You Dirtied My Shoes

"What is the matter?" Amelia asked as she placed tea in front of Heather who was staring blankly in space after reading a few things in her laptop.

She was in the living room at the moment and her most awaited Monday has come.

She waited for a few hours staring at the inbox of her email, until the notification of four new emails came.

With pounding heart, she slowly moved her finger on the mousepad.

She was a confident person but come on, this is a life or death matter for her, she will surely be nervous no matter what.

After seeing the emails, she ended up staring in space.

Only snapping out of it when Amelia spoke near her.

"Oh uhmmm…"

She still felt that she was in a dream.

After so long, she was doing something not out of a whim and she had placed a lot of effort in. The feeling of achieving something from all these efforts, it was still the best.

To the point that she remained speechless.

"Could it be that the young madam has passed her exams?" Ravier voiced out what she couldn't.

After hearing it from someone else's mouth, it started sinking in inside her and her blank look turned into a bright smile.

She jumped up and hugged Amelia.

"I have indeed passed!!!"

She jumped around and Amelia could only follow but she was smiling as well. Then Heather walked over to Ravier before doing the same, she jumped up and down with a happy smile.

"Congratulations," the two happily said.

They had smiles on their faces being affected by her happiness.

"That's right, I'll be needing a space to become my own laboratory. We need some renovation. I'll go and speak with your young master!!"

She rushed up to get change and half an hour later she was rushing down and left the villa with her car.

Ravier and Amelia was stunned by her actions.

To think that she initiated in going to Cyrus when over the past year, she would wait for him to come before she speaks with him.

"Changes are seriously coming," Ravier commented.

"And I hope it will be good changes," Amelia replied.

After a moment, she sighed, "The young master had changed so much after going abroad. Maybe the young madam would be able to do something for him."

"Are you speaking this way because he was doing things that was obviously a baffling thing even for him?" Ravier asked her.

She nodded her head, "They were subconscious but they weren't bad subconscious actions."

"I do hope so as well."

*****

"I got too excited," Heather slapped her forehead now that she was a few buildings away from Cyrus' company.

She had her red car parked on the side.

Coming up here due to her excitement.

She shook her head and was planning on making a U turn back home when she noticed two people backing away from a group of people on one alley near her.

Since she had already seen it, she couldn't ignore it.

It was obvious something bad is going on.

The man in a suit leading the group reached out to the woman, who was carrying a young child.

The woman hugged the child tighter.

"You really gave us a lot of difficulties," the man said.

Close to reaching her arm, his hand was slapped away.

Not exactly slapped away, it was actually hit by a flying shoe, strong enough that he winced.

"Hey baldie!!"

All of them turned to the one who spoke.

Heather was about ten steps away from them.

"You dirtied my shoes," she added.

The man instantly frowned and his face darkened.

"Your hands look dirty, now my shoes had been dirtied."

"Stay out of our business," the man glared at her.

"Oh I had been glared at many times already, don't worry I am used to that," she waved her hand and walked over to pick up her shoes.

She even patted the imaginary dirt away after standing in front of the woman and child, "It really is dirty."

Then she looked up, "Looking at you closely, it seems not just your hands but even your face looks dirty, baldie."

"Wha- You dare-"

He reached out to grab her neck but Heather who was still holing her shoe slapped his hand away using it.

"I told you, your hands are dirty."

The man gritted his teeth.

Someone suddenly came and was even insulting him nonstop.

"Get her," he commanded the other four behind him.

She raised her hand as they started walking towards her.

"How about this?"

The baldie man looked at the paper in her hands, while Heather glanced on the side.

The baldie man couldn't understand why she was suddenly showing that to him.

"Name your price."

The woman's eyes behind Heather grew wide after hearing her words.

The baldie man scoffed while he looked at her up and down.

"I am telling you, you can't afford it. Now give that woman to us."

He reached out again but for the third time Heather hit his hand with her shoes.

"You-"

"How would you know that I couldn't afford it unless you check? I am already asking you, name your price."

The baldie man glared at her but seeing the blank cheque in her hand, he controlled his anger and spoke of the numbers most people would pale once heard.

"1 million…"

Then he smirked when he saw that Heather still looked confident.

"Dollars."

"You liar!!"

The woman found her voice and shouted.

"There are interests woman, be thankful I took your beauty in consideration that I removed the excess," he grinned at Heather.

Heather stopped the woman behind her who was ready to fight with him.

At this moment, what they can do is to go with the wishes of these people.

Nevertheless, this is still a pain in Heather's savings but she knew that this investment will surely come to fruition.

"Fine, 1 million dollar it is."

She wrote down the number and signed on it.

Seeing how easily Heather wrote it, the baldie man felt that something was wrong.

He looked around but didn't see anyone.

Plus, his current actions are just, this woman has such amount of loan from them.

"What are you planning?" he asked Heather looking at her with his guard up.

He felt that this woman was familiar but he couldn't remember who it is.

"Geez, how many times must I hear such question every time I do something?" she rolled her eyes at him.

"Anyway, what do you mean what I am planning? I am simply doing what a real human would do. Unlike you who acts like a hooligan so early in the day."

"That woman has that much amount of loan," he rebuked.

"Calm down, I didn't say she didn't have any loan. I am simply saying that you are a hooligan."

The baldie man was about to lose his patience on her.

"Here you go."

He reached to take it but Heather pulled it back.

"Wait, do you really think that I will just hand it to you? I need a contract man. Come on, if you don't want to be called a hooligan then you should do business properly."

He squinted his eyes before gesturing for the one on his right to get something.

The man went back to their car and took out an envelope.

"Hoho, I guess you are doing proper business, seeing as you are actually prepared with your contract."

"I told you we aren't hooligans, that woman just kept evading us," he felt smug after hearing her words.

"A person who corners a weaker person in such an alley is a hooligan no matter what you say."

Before he handed her the contract, "How would I know that, that is true?"

"Go and have of your people check in the bank then we will listen through a call."

Her suggestion was the best choice at this moment.

Heather had no time to think of other methods, because at this moment she can't wait too long.

Once again, she glanced on the side.

The baldie man did as she told, the payment was already there and seeing as she wasn't planning anything else and the nearest bank was a few minutes' walk away, he made another of his men to go to the bank.

Heather gave the cheque while he allowed Heather to hold the contract and allowed her to read its content.

"Why?" the woman behind Heather whispered to her.

Finally after everything, Heather turned and looked at her for the first time.

Heather smiled and was silently shock to see that the boy in the arms of the woman was able to hold back his tears. But she can see that he really wanted to cry at this moment.

"I will explain to you once we are done with this. Just know that I am not helping you for free."

The woman furrowed her brows in confusion at the way Heather spoke.

"Do you know who I am?"

"Let's say that I know at the same time I don't."

Then the baldie man's phone rang making Heather turn to him.

It was in loud speaker.

"The cheque was accepted," was the words she heard.

'Of course it would be. That's close to the last bit of my money,' Heather thought grumpily.

She had to say goodbye with her money now. She was no longer rich.

"Sign," she said to the baldie man.

The transaction was over in a few minutes and soon they rode the car.

"Bye baldie!!! I wish we won't meet again!!!" Heather happily waved her hand.

Due to the easy payment that he received, the man no longer took issue with the way she called him.

But he felt the same way, he didn't want to meet her again due to the complicated background that she has.

When his subordinate called he was informed that she was Heather Relish Porter.

The wife of Cyrus Porter and the disowned daughter of the Relish family.

No matter how cold people treats her, he still wants to be cautious.

As for why she saved that person, he no longer cares, he has his money and that's it.

Heather turned serious and glanced to the side before turning to the woman.

"Shall we have some coffee?"
