"Grandma…," to conceal her panic, Luna used the book in her hand which she lifted in the air to distract grandma Li from investigating her further, "I was looking for this book, and I got it." She could sense the trembling in each word she mouthed despite how careful and mindful she uttered under the dictation of her strong heartbeat.
Through her ghostly expression and the horror in her eyes, grandma Li could read there was something that Luna was hiding from her, however, to reduce the tension of the ambiance in the room, she switched the subject.
