Grace could barely put up with the pain of seeing that Declan didn't have any faith in her. It was not entirely Gerald's fault. She was equally responsible for it. She should never have left Declan in the first place. As her agony worsened, she began to feel pain in her stomach. She pressed her tummy and pulled the blanket up to her waist to hide her hands.
"It is entirely up to you whether to believe me or not," she said. Her voice was comparatively low this time. Yet she tried to look normal. "To Gerald, I was just a trophy wife. He liked to take me to the parties and show everyone how beautiful and successful as a designer I was. He didn't love me at all."
Declan turned to her with a grimace.
