Amber had been standing in front of her vanity mirror ever since she got home, reflecting upon Natasha's words. She took some make-up remover on a cotton ball and rubbed it on her face.
The layers of heavy makeup were removed, revealing the dark circles under her eyes.
She moved her head left and right, lifting her chin. Her skin indeed appeared dull.
'Is Earl losing interest in me because I'm no longer appealing?' She wondered, running her finger down her cheek.
'It is because of Natasha,' the voice in her head whispered.
Amber's eyes hardened. Her finger paused right on the scar, which was still faintly visible. She had been beautiful at the time, yet Earl diverted his attention to Natasha, who wooed him.
"She is responsible," she murmured. "She is the reason."
Her voice rose at the last sentence, and she scratched her forearm.
