Knock-Knock…
Declan had just relaxed his stiff muscles and was trying to sleep when the door knocked. He slightly lifted his head and glanced at the door.
"Who is there?"
"It's me." It was Yasmin. "The dinner is ready. Are you coming?"
"Uh… N-Not now. You eat. Don't wait for me."
He was in so much pain that he didn't feel like eating.
There was a silence on the other side of the door, and he thought she had left.
"I will wait for you." He heard her voice after a while, followed by her footsteps that faded away.
"Shit…" he grumbled and dropped his head back.
He almost dozed off when the door knocked again several minutes later. He sat up straight in a daze.
"It's me, Francis. Open the door."
"Wait a minute."
Declan slowly stood up. The dizziness almost threw him off balance. He managed to walk over to the door and open it.
