Chapter 25 - Chapter 24- Crazy love

At the Wilson manor…

"Good morning, Dad. Good morning, grandmother." Derrek grinned as he walked into the dining hall. "Good morning, my beautiful Mom." He threw his arms around his mother's neck and placed a wet kiss on her cheek. He raised his eyebrows as if surprised. "You look younger day by day. People will start calling you my older sister."

"Mm… Stop buttering me." Caroline grimaced and asked, "What do you want from me?"

"Mom…" Derrek sulked, disappointed. "Are you not happy with my compliment?" He sat on a chair beside her, his smile resuming. "I am showing my love to you."

"Yes, yes. You only act like this when you need something from me." Caroline gave him a cold stare as she handed him a plate of toast.

"Hahaha…" Gerald laughed, setting down the cup of coffee. "I will leave before you demand something I can't fulfil." He stood up and went out.

"You have started your drama again," Helena, the family's eldest member, said, cautiously sipping the scathing coffee.

"What is it?" Derrek grunted, sounding annoyed. Two vertical lines formed between his eyebrows. "Why does everyone think I am an opportunist?" He dropped the toast on the plate.

He glanced at Caroline and met her sharp glare. He gulped down the lump in his throat and continued eating docilely.

"Stop pretending," Caroline snapped. "Tell me what you want."

"Uh…" Helena rolled her eyes as she rose from her chair, holding her walking stick. "My heart is too weak to hear your arguments." She slowly strode to her room.

Caroline's expression turned ugly as she looked at Helena's retreating form. When she returned her focus to Derrek, her eyes were burning with rage.

"What is your issue?" She fumed, taking a tentative sip of her coffee.

"Give me your credit card, please…" Derrek cast her a pleading look.

"Why?" She exclaimed, nearly choking on coffee. "What happened to your cards?" She pulled her eyebrows, astounded.

"That… ahh…" Derrek sighed exaggeratedly. 'That jerk Declan has blocked all my cards,' he hissed in his mind, his jaws tense. A glint of frustration crossed his face. But it didn't last longer than a few seconds.

"These hackers…" he mumbled, a helpless look on his face. "They want to rob me. I have no choice but to block my cards."

Caroline's mood turned sour after hearing his words. The coffee had become even more bitter.

"It's all because of those video games," she grumbled fiercely, slamming the cup down. "Instead of wasting time on playing games, concentrate on business."

"Don't start over, Mom." He grimaced. This time, he was truly annoyed. "Declan is good enough to handle the business. I am still young. Let me enjoy my life."

"Are you planning to spend your whole life following Declan's command?" Caroline growled. Rage swept through her like a wildfire. Her eyes turned into two angry black dots. "This is your father's company. One day, you will have to manage it. When are you going to learn how to run a business?"

"Come on, Mom." Derrek gave a dismissive grunt. "Handling business is not my thing. Declan is good at it. I am more comfortable in developing games. I will become richer than Declan and Dad someday. Just wait." He pulled a smile over his lips and added, "As of now, I need your card. Please, Mom… Don't you love your son?"

Caroline sighed in defeat. "Take it from my purse," she said, waving her hand.

"Oh, my sweet mother." Derrek rose from his chair and hugged her. He showered kisses on her forehead and cheeks. "I love you so much. Muah… Muah…" He kissed her on the brow before he rushed into Caroline's room.

"This boy…" Caroline muttered dejectedly, sighing in dismay. "When will he understand my worry?"

At the head office of Wilson and Co…

"Mr. Lee is satisfied with the blueprint. He has urged us to start the project as soon as possible. A team is ready to go for the inspection of the location. The work will start once the site is finalized. Here is the list of the sites. Have a look."

A woman in her thirties pushed a file towards Declan, pointing at a certain point. When she didn't hear back from him, she looked up at him. Her limpid black eyes narrowed as she noticed him spacing out.

"Declan…" She called out to him, waving her hand in front of his face.

Declan stared somewhere ahead in a daze. He leaned against the armrest, his hand on his chin, a faint smile on the corner of his lips.

Ever since he had kissed Yasmin, he couldn't stop thinking about her. Her flushed face kept flashing through his mind.

When he was in an important board meeting, he saw her face. When Francis showed him the growth chart for this month, he imagined her boldly pressing her lips against his. Even when he was in a meeting with Ava, the company's AVP, he thought of her.

Thump-Thump-Thump…

"Declan, are you listening to me?" Ava yelled, pounding on the table.

"Hmm?" Declan shifted his eyes to her, only to meet her scorching gaze. It took him some time to realize he was having a meeting with her. Unfortunately, he had not heard a word she had said.

"Ahem… Well…" He scratched his brow, looking at the file. "I'll look into it."

"Don't arrange a meeting if you're not in the mood to talk," Ava grumbled. "I don't like talking to the walls." She got to her feet and turned to leave.

"Ava, wait…"

Ava turned back to him in a stormy mood. "You know what… You should take a break. It will refresh you. Why don't you go on a vacation with your wife?"

"You are also saying the same." Declan sighed in distress. "You know how important this project is. Still, you are asking me to take a leave."

"Because you need it." Ava slammed her hands on the table and leaned forward. "We all know how committed you are to your work. But you also need some time for yourself, especially now. Have some fun with your wife, get to know her, and make some crazy love with her. You will notice how refreshed you feel after that."

"Okay." Declan curled his lips slyly, rolling the paperweight. "Crazy love making huh? You sound as if you have done it frequently."

"Uh…" She let out a groan and flailed her arms. "You have no idea." She then nodded to the file and added, "Check the list and let me know." She went out in a hurry.

Declan took up the file and began to check it. "I'd like to make crazy love," he murmured, smiling.
