Derrek regarded his brother with disbelief, his eyes roving across his face. "I don't think they were overconfident. You were the overconfident one." He pointed at him, displeased. "They were many and had guns. One bullet," he held up his index finger, "only one bullet was enough to kill me. Humph…"
He lowered his eyes to himself and put his hands on his chest. "I was not wearing any bulletproof vest. If your plan was to walk me freely in front of them, you could have taken proper protection. You could have informed me earlier." He cocked his head and glared at him. "But no… You turned my happy day into a nightmare. I hate you and will not talk to you."
He became more and more annoyed as he continued to speak.
Declan maintained his cool look and said bluntly, "You became their target on your own. What I did was to save you from their conspiracy. You should have thanked me."
