Julia arrived home in no time. She hung the car key on the keyholder and went into her mother's room.
Grace was reading him a story. She stopped when she noticed Julia entering.
Nicholas jumped off the bed and rushed over to her.
Julia squatted and hugged him. "I am here. Mamma has come home."
"I miss dad."
"Oh, my baby. He will be back soon." She patted him on the back. "Okay, how about we call him?"
Nicholas grinned, his white teeth shining.
"Go to our bedroom and wait for me. I will be right back."
"Okay." He delightfully ran out.
Julia gave Grave a guilty look and walked over to her. "Sorry, Mom, I couldn't make it sooner. Did he disturb you?"
"It's okay. He has been missing his father a lot. When is Xander coming back? Did you talk to him?"
Julia shrugged. "No… He hasn't returned my calls recently. Maybe he is busy."
