"Are you sure? Gerald, you should say something about this. I am not comfortable with new people working here."
Declan stopped kissing Yasmin and looked at the closed door as he heard Grace's loud voice.
"What is going on?" he murmured.
Yasmin also craned her neck to look at the door. "No idea. We should go and check."
They got out of the study and heard Grace say, "You shouldn't have brought them in without asking me."
The housekeeper opened and closed his mouth but said nothing. He was looking at Gerald, expecting him to say something. He had only been following Gerald and Caroline's orders all those years. He was not accustomed to Grace talking authoritatively to him.
