Gia sighed happily upon arriving in her father and Graeme's office.
"I never knew I could be so happy to see this room," she walked to the windows and looked out across the forest. They were home. It was still the early morning hours. The forest was asleep. Everything was peaceful. They had not even been gone that long, thankfully. It felt like they could return and the whole place would be different with how much had happened in Gray Vale in that short time.
Penelope, Zagan, and Cora entered the room more hesitantly. This was not their home. Cora kept her hands in the sweatshirt pockets, her shoulders hunched up as she walked to the windows and looked out across the trees as Gia was. It was warmer here than where they were, but her nerves were threatening to make her teeth chatter.
