Theo bounded through this gray world that smelled like blood, his thoughts only on giving Gia a sure escape.

The two vampires were still after him, neither of them seeming to care that the female had disappeared. They had a lycan loose in Gray Vale—something that had never occurred in their history—and he was headed deeper into the woods that surrounded the palace.

If the strange half wolf half human creature got anywhere near the palace and Her Majesty found out, they would surely pay. And neither of them wanted to end up in the dungeon themselves.

Theo pounded the earth with his paws, flinging the dead gray dirt back behind him as he wound between trees, trying to keep the vampires from getting ahold of him for as long as possible. If they were able to catch him, one of them would likely circle back around for Gia.
