For the longest time, John found it hard to distinguish between dreams and reality.
Ever since he was thrown into that van, a part of his brain refused what was happening to him, he kept trying to convince himself that he'd wake up soon. Even when he was flying in that old jet that was too horrifying to be something his imagination could come up with, his brain worked fast processing both possibilities, he thought that if he was really being kidnapped, then his family would be there to rescue him soon.
But he kept on hoping that all of it was one endless nightmare, one he would finally be able to wake up from and forget all about soon.
"Now get the fuc* out of my car," the driver said when he finally parked where the exchange point was, he turned around and looked with so much hate at Henry, "I never want to see or hear anything about you again,"
The driver forced himself not to look at the child that he had threatened a few minutes ago.
