Asu was the youngest beggar to ever be admitted to Red's kingdom, and if that was not enough for her to tug on the strings of the kind boy's heart, she had green eyes that had nothing to do with the shade of his mother's eyes or his sister's eyes. However, little Asu reminded John terribly of Treasure.
The idea that she was about to get flogged was enough to make him want to scream.
