A phoenix, which was an immortal bird associated with Greek Mythology that cyclically regenerated or otherwise reborn.
The picture on the front of the book showed an orange coloured fiery Phoenix raised from the ashes and spreading its wings.
The girl had thought a lot about her situation, and just like a Phoenix, she felt like she had died and was reborn.
She was drawn to that story and the mythical creature that inspired the story.
The girl saw herself as someone who had died and was given a second chance in life.
