Yarin's POV:
The moment I gave up struggling, black gas shot from my nose and mouth.
As Karter laughed excitedly, I gradually melted and was permeated by the black blood. Then, I was molded into a form under the black fog.
After an unknown amount of time, I fell to the ground. I felt as if a road roller had crushed my entire body. I couldn't use any strength and couldn't even stand up.
Footsteps approached me. It was Karter.
"Really… Perfect." He kneeled before me and stretched out his hands but hesitated and stopped mid-air. In the end, he sighed. "My master, my true god, I can't wait to see you descend."
The cold temperature from his fingertips made me feel a chill. I struggled to retreat, but in the next second, my body moved on its own.
The crackling sounds of bones made my hair stand on end and my heart ache even more.
Obviously, it wasn't me who made me stand up, but…
