Two years later...
After studies Hubert went out of the room along with other students and headed for Valeria's class only to be stopped by Jacquiline. He and Jacquiline were classmates and it was not new to him that she always threw advances at him.
"Hey Hubert, where are you off to?"
"I'm off to see my girlfriend."
He answered bluntly and Jacquiline was filled with anger at the mention of girlfriend. Who wouldn't know whom he was talking about, everyone knew how they were fond of each other.
"What does she have that I don't."
Jacquiline asked annoyed but tried to tame it. He stopped walking and turned to face her.
"Everything you don't."
She gasped in shock before frowning when Hubert turned and left nonchalantly. 15 year old Hubert was very eye catching to every girl in the orphanage home and he was desired by them to no avail. His heart only belonged to one person and he always prayed she returned the feeling.
Yes, as Hubert grew his feelings grew from like to crush and from crush to love. His actions were very blunt, he spoke his mind without holding back.
"Hubert, this feeling of yours can get toxic and it could lead to what God won't like." Reverend Roselina spoke carefully to him when he was only 14 years old.
"Then why did God create women, sister? Why then did he give Valeria to me? Don't you see it's for a reason?" Roselina's eyes widened at his mature and bold questions.
"But you need to bottle those feelings for now, you're no more a child, you're undergoing puberty and your feelings with the opposite sex will get to a point where you won't be able to control it dear."
She carefully spoke with concern.
"As far as Valeria don't harbour such feelings for me YET then it won't get toxic sister Roselina."
He raised an eyebrow at her as he showed an expressionless face. Sister Roselina was shocked, mesmerized, fascinated and in awe at his response.
"You're one of a kind Hubert."
She commented, exhausted on what more to say.
Waiting for Valeria as he leaned on the wall close to the door. Valeria picked up her book from the table and headed for the open door before stepping out to only be pulled by someone.
"Hu-Hubert!"
She yelped as he held her arm and pulled her to another direction.
"Shush will you." He placed his free hand to his lips, indicating she keep quiet. Ignoring his warning she questioned.
"Where are you taking me to?"
He didn't answer her immediately, rather they kept going until they were out of sight.
"The woods."
