Chapter 7 - Delarcy

The woman's voice sounded, and Diana furrowed her brows at her.

"Uh, hi." She said awkwardly, and an abrupt smile emerged on the woman's face.

"Can I speak to you for a moment? longest, five minutes." She asked, and Diana stayed silent for a few seconds before raising her brows.

"Have we met before?" She threw back a question, and the woman slightly shook her head at her.

"No, we haven't." She replied, and Diana's furrowed brows deepened even more.

"Then why do you want to speak with me?" She inquired in deep suspicion, and the woman's lips curled up into a smile.

"You don't need to worry. I am not some bad guy or anything. And even if I were, I wouldn't waste my time talking to you. I'll just get straight to the point."

She explained, and finding quite a few points in what she said, Diana turned to look at Lisa with an arched brow.

Lisa glanced at the woman with narrowed eyes, and with hesitation in her tone, she nodded at Diana.

Diana beamed and turned to face the woman.

"Alright." She said, and the woman scantily smiled.

She pulled the door of the car open and motioned for Diana to step inside.

Still a bit suspicious, Diana reluctantly got into the car, and she immediately whined the window up.

They stayed silent for a few moments, and feeling really awkward, Diana cleared her throat.

"So... who are you?" She asked, and the woman took her shades off, then turned to look at her with her gray-colored eyes.

"My name is Delarcy. It is very nice to meet you, Diana." She introduced herself, and upon hearing her name, Diana's face instantly darkened.

"Hey, how do you know my-"

"I know. Don't ask me how." Delarcy cut her off before she could utter a word, and smiled scantily at her.

"Let me get straight to the point. I don't have much time to waste." She whipped out a card from the pocket of her suit and handed it over to Diana.

"I am an agent from a secret huge organization and would like to hire you due to the potential I see in you."

She explained, and completely confused, Diana glanced at the card and raised her head to look at her.

"What agency? And what is this? Who the hell are you?" She arched her brows in a questioning manner, and Delarcy simply beamed at her.

"Just like I said before, my name is Delarcy, an agent from a hidden organization. My presence with you today is to invite you to work for us."

" Don't worry, it is not dangerous to work. In fact, it's a very beneficial work which I know you will not reject."

"Not just that, the payment is more than you can acquire in a year. I know things are not very okay with you, so this is definitely a nice deal. Plus, you will be given full protection against him. So this is one of the benefits you will be receiving."

She chuckled softly, and Diana's brow puckered deeply.

She lowered her head and took a deep breath as she gazed at the card.

"How do you know so much about me?" She asked, knowing exactly what Delarcy meant when she said she knew things were not very okay with her.

"Hmm... that is something I cannot answer. But one thing I will let you know is that we have a huge connection almost all over the world, so finding anything out is as easy as ABC."

"That is to tell you how big of an organization it is, so do not underestimate it. It is a one-time opportunity that may never come again. If you make up your mind in two days, call the number on the card and I will pick you up. I do hope you think carefully."

She smiled as usual and unlocked the door, then motioned Diana to step out.

Diana let out a low breath, and with a slight nod of her head, she got out of the car and shut the door.

Delarcy spared her one last glance before she started the car's engine and drove off down the road.

"Who is she? And what did she want from you?" Lisa instantly grabbed Diana by the hand and turned her around.

"Can we get home first? I will explain." Diana tiredly smiled and Lisa nodded, then proceeded to flag down a cab.

....

Finally, having arrived back home after a forty-minute ride, Diana plopped down on the sofa and shut her eyes.

She took deep breaths and opened her eyes when the space beside her became occupied by Lisa.

"Are you going to tell me now?" Lisa gazed at her in a questioning manner, and she tiredly rolled her eyes.

"Well, she introduced herself as Delarcy and claimed to be an agent for an unknown organization."

"It's a really big organization that has these powerful networks almost all around the world."

"She mentioned hiring me for some work that she talked about, and that the payment is more than I can earn in a whole year."

"Not just that, she knows my name and everything concerning me. Both the background and all." She explained, and Lisa stared at her with a dropped jaw.

"She wants you to work as a stripper?"

"Oh my gosh, Lisa!"

"Don't call me like that! What job would earn you more than you can earn in a year, in a month? That's just ridiculous!"

Lisa shook her head in disbelief, and Diana face palmed herself. "Lisa, even working as a stripper won't pay you that much."

"How do you know that?" Lisa narrowed her eyes at her and she looked her up and down.

"Oh c'mon, you're not serious. Even Google will give you the answer to that shit." She clicked her tongue in annoyance, and Lisa arched her brows at her.

"So what job do you think it is then?" She inquired, and Diana shrugged.

"I don't know about that as she didn't give me any information concerning it. She said all other information will be given if I choose to work for them, considering they are a hidden organization. Although she did say something that kind of caught my interest."
