The giant metal doors leading inside the grand hall opened wider as soon as Xanthus stepped in. A large banquet table was set with refined cuisines and surrounding the table, King Valerie, Queen Lorelia, Prince Illay, and Alpha Raven were seated across each other. The second commander of knights, Maximus, was also standing right behind Illay's chair.
Holding his stiff expression, when Xanthus walked inside, Valerie immediately shifted his curious gaze towards the door and uttered in a grumpy voice, "Xanthus, you are late."
He didn't fail to notice either that the moment he stepped inside, Lorelia's facial expression turned a little sour. On the other hand, Illay retained a sly smug on his face while looking at him, but his big eyes seemed mysterious. Maximus too greeted him coldly with a bow.
Raven looked a bit excited to see him arrive there but his excitement suddenly tainted a little when he realized that he had come alone.
