Dr. Lee continued to chat with Wendy regarding her condition before finally prescribing some medication that would target her symptoms. By the time Dr. Lee was done, the attending doctor who had helped with the bandage and his assistant had already left.
Sitting on a chair, Mrs. Lucas said with a smile, "No matter what, it's good enough that your eyes have recovered. Whether your memory comes back or not is not as important."
Mary nodded in agreement. "That's right. Wendy, you don't have to keep trying to remember. The doctor says your memory will return in time."
She was worried about her daughter. She worried that Wendy would again suffer excruciating headaches whenever she tried to recall something.
To Wendy, she hadn't felt that recovering her memory was important before she saw Michael's face. After seeing Michael, she wanted to remember the past too. She did not want Michael to be the only one who had their memories, good or bad.
