Wendy's phone rang, and she looked at it again.
She saw the call was from Zess, and she knew what was happening.
It seemed like Timothy had already gone to her house.
Since Wendy had refused to answer any of his calls, he must have forced Zess to call instead.
Wendy had no intention of answering.
Before she put her phone away in her bag, she noticed an unread message in her inbox.
She tapped on it, and it was a message from Zess.
Through the text message, Wendy could see that Zess was worried about her.
Wendy then pretended as if nothing had happened, picked out a dress, and went to try it on.
She was going to let Timothy stew in his own juices.
"She isn't answering," said Zess. She showed her phone to Timothy. Letting out a sigh of relief, she said, "I think she is either unable to answer or didn't hear her phone ring."
Timothy snatched Zess' phone and called Wendy again.
