Diana blinked to make sure she saw the name right but it remained the same. Nothing changed, the name was spelled out boldly in cursives and the familiar signature was right below it.
"How is this possible?" Diana whispered. She looked at Melody who was busy putting on her earrings. "This is bad, Melody," she said again to herself.
Quietly she dropped the box into the trash and walked back to help Melody with her shoes as she had promised. She tried to mask the worry on her face but Melody saw it the moment she looked at her.
"You saw the pendant didn't you?" Melody asked and Diana nodded, not wanting to deny it when she wanted answers to it.
"Why is he sending you jewelry? it's your birthday and all but only your lover is allowed to give jewelry to a woman, not his brother or other men," Diana asked. She did not look at Melody and focused solely on putting the shoes on her and tying the strap above her ankle.
