Melody woke with the sun already on the horizon but beside was Damian whose arm was draped around her while the other played with her hair. Finding the position comfortable, she shut her eyes again.
"Sleep more if you need to," he said and she opened her eyes, surprised that she was caught. "Did I wake you?" he asked and she sat up taking the bed covers to wrap around her body.
"No, you didn't but you should have. It is so late already." Melody replied, looking outside the slightly opened window.
"I couldn't bring myself to do that. You were very tired yesterday," Damian said.
"Fine, but I will have to leave you now…" she trailed off when she finally noticed that he was dressed in a new set of clothes. "You've been awake for a long time haven't you?"
"Mhm, I received a call from my father, the family is meeting today," Damian replied but he did not sound like someone looking forward to a family gathering.
