"I am sorry," Scarlett was quick to apologize. The slap that she received from Abigail still stung badly and she thought that her cheek would swell once she was able to feel it again.
"Are you ready to talk now?" Melody asked not an ounce sorry for her. She was not going to kill Scarlett, but she wanted her to feel helpless while in here and set her free to face what else she had planned for her. The evidence that Smith gave to her long ago was still in her possession and she thought it was time to make use of it.
Jacob, Scarlett, and Gale were all in the same boat and she would make sure that they sank together.
Scarlett looked at Abigail who hadn't left the cell yet and calculated the odds that she would either be slapped again at Melody's command or Abigail would just slap her if she felt like it. She had seen the freedom Melody gave to her and the amount of trust that she had in Abigail.
