"We would let you catch up," Melody said, feeling the tension between the father and son. Collins was not always warm but he was not so cold either. There seems to be a feud between the two that she was unaware of.
Neither Collins nor Jacob reacted or spared her glance. They just stared at each other as if they were engaged in a staring contest. Melody looked at Abigail and nodded towards the exit.
Abigail looked at Collins, the cold aura that emanated from him just by looking at his father surprised her but it also helped her understand a few things. The son did not like his father or there must have been something that Jacob had done to have his son become so distant and repulsive towards him. She touched his shoulder and he turned to look at her. The hard look he had in his eyes while staring at his father dissipated before their eyes locked.
