"Are you alright?" Abigail asked Melody. They walked side by side into the mansion. After leaving Damian's house, Melody looked much better so she could tell that everything was fine now but she still thought it was right to ask.
"Mhm, I should have known something like this would happen knowing his background and the people around him. If my family had a say in what I do just like in the past, I am sure they would have men lined up for me. People they think would make a good match for me as well as bring more money into their pockets," Melody replied.
Abigail was silent, giving only a hum and a nod of her head. Hearing such was not a surprise to her. It was very typical of the rich to arrange the marriages of the younger ones similar to how theirs was arranged when they were younger forgetting the pain of leaving the one they loved to marry the one chosen for them.
