Abigail stood without uttering a word for a while after what Collins had said. He wants to love her even though he knows she doesn't feel the same for him. This thought circulated in her head space for the time she was silent.
Collins remained silent waiting for her to speak, being the ever-patient man behind her.
"You know nothing about me, Collins," Abigail looked over her shoulder and found him peering down at her with the same gaze that he had given her since they met today.
"I don't care about your past. Whatever it is, it is in the past," Collins replied. His family was not the perfect family that he would go about pointing fingers at others' flaws. Not including the extended family, his little family was not one he would like to share with others, but luckily for him, she already knew that. She knew what his family was like. "I care about your now and future," he completed his words.
