"Me," Abigail replied. She looked at the wine in the glass and twirled it, her two hands holding the glass together.
Melody looked at her for a while before looking at the glass in front of her. Abigail's answer was unexpected but Melody could tell she was telling the truth, she was saying what was in her mind.
"What do you mean, Abi?" Melody asked. It seems there was still much for her to know about Abigail. She didn't know the back story of Abigail she trusted the woman. She didn't feel any threat from her so she didn't care what her back story was.
"I don't think I have it in me to fall in love," Abi said and took a big gulp of the wine, almost emptying it. "I don't know if I can ever return his love."
"Abi…" Melody called. Although Abigail spoke in a calm and clear tone, Melody knew there must be something painful that made her refuse to allow herself to love. To fall in love.
Abigail smiled at her.
