Abivail sat beside Smith with her gaze down at her hands, which were placed on her lap. She bit on her lower lip, acting like a child now that she was alone with the man who had raised and trained her. Although he was not more than 15 years older than her, he was like a father to her what she had come to say her rethinking.
With his keen and observant eyes, he stared at her silently, waiting, knowing she had something on her mind. But after a few minutes passed, Abigail looked anywhere but at him, and he saw and decided to be the first speaker.
"Abigail…" he called so she would look up at him. "What happened?" He asked when she looked at him.
"...Nothing…" Abigail replied with a pause. She stared at him, trying to decide whether to go ahead and tell him what was on her mind or just leave it as it was.
