Seated within the garden, Diana stared at the cookies Alfred had asked the maids to bring to her without any interest in them. For someone who would eat whenever she saw something edible and trusted its source, her disinterest in the food had the maids worried.
They could not even approach her, afraid of being yelled at or worse fired for disobeying her when she had instructed them that they should stay away from her.
"Young Miss, Master asked that you eat something and not starve yourself. He would be here soon to join you but he wants you to eat before he does," a maid boldly approached her but as if her voice was never let out of her throat, she was ignored.

The maid opened her mouth again to speak but another stopped her by placing a hand on her shoulder and shaking her head.
