Melody arrived at the Starlight building and walked in. She went to the receptionist.
"Hello!" Melody greeted with a smile plastered across her face.
"Welcome, ma'am, how may I help you?" The receptionist Spoke without lifting her eyes off the screen of the computer she was working on.
"I am here for the interview". Melody said with a smile on her lips. "What's your name ma'am? The receptionist asked.
"Melody Nova". She replied and the receptionist focused on the computer for some time before raising her head a little and saying.
"Please join the others and wait for your turn". The receptionist said slightly glancing at Melody who nodded. "Alright, thanks". Melody said and walked to the seat with the others who came for the interview as well.
Soon after, Damian and his friends arrived at the company. Though he had his elevator away from the rest of the employees he was still able to spot Melody along with the other candidates.
Glancing at Lloyd, he said, "I want to know exactly who she is and what she is doing here".
Following Damian's gaze, Ezekiel spotted Melody sitting with the rest of the candidates and smiled. "I never thought you would take an interest in a girl right after we told you to". Ezekiel said eyeing Damian with his side eye.
Damian glared at him but didn't say a word to him. He didn't accept or reject his words. "What do you mean by 'take interest in a girl?' I am not getting you?" Lloyd asked. Ezekiel almost facepalmed.
"He was practically telling you to look into the girl's background but you don't even know who he is talking about. Or why he said it". Ezekiel said exasperatedly.
"Ezekiel, you are also responsible for making sure he does his job well". Damian said before pushing the button to open the elevator door and stepping out.
Ezekiel looked at him and then turned to Lloyd with a glare and mumbled, "Now I have to babysit you while you work? This is just unfair".
"Don't make it sound like I am incapable of handling some simple task". Lloyd stated but he got ignored by Ezekiel who was already out of the elevator right behind Damian.
Lloyd walked to the receptionist collected the data about Melody and left the place with no one suspecting anything about his actions. He went back up to Damian and Ezekiel.
He hands a flash drive to Damian. "Here is the information you wanted me to provide". Lloyd said and glanced at Ezekiel with a look that said 'I don't need your help Ezekiel rolled his eyes at him for his dramatics.
"There isn't much information about her in here. Get me everything there is to know about her". Damian said to them after reading the content in the drive.
Lloyd scowled at Damian while Ezekiel smirked at Lloyd which made him roll his eyes. "Looks like you need your babysitter after all". Ezekiel said. Lloyd pouted and pointed a finger at Ezekiel. " You... You are mean Ezekiel". Lloyd said and Ezekiel wiggled his eyebrows.
Damian ignored their childish behavior and picked up his phone from the table, he made a call to the reception. " Send in Miss Nova". He said immediately the call connected.
"Yes, President Frost". The receptionist answered and the call was disconnected. Lloyd and Ezekiel gave him some weird looks like he had become someone else but he still ignored them.
"I believe you both did not come to sit in my office all day doing nothing. Kindly return to your work". Damian said and withdrew his eyes from them.
"Are chasing us out? " Lloyd asked feeling betrayed by his friend.
"Yes. I am chasing you out" Damian responded with a nonchalant attitude.
"Fine. Don't ask me for help when you can't woo her". Lloyd said rising from his seat. Ezekiel could only shake his head at them as also stood to leave.
Downstairs, after the receptionist dropped the phone she walked over to Melody, with a smile plastered across her face she said all lovingly, "Miss Nova, the president has called for you, please follow me". She didn't know who this woman was but, she did not want to get on her bad side if she was close to the president.
Melody was a little skeptical, was it the job of the President to interview them? She doubted, he could have easily asked someone else to do that job and not, himself. She brushed it off not knowing the company's policies. He might want to do it himself to select the best people to work for him.
She rose to her feet and followed the receptionist up to the president's office. The receptionist left after showing her which door was the president's office.
Melody knocked on the door and waited. After about two seconds she was ushered in by a voice from inside.
Melody slowly opened the door and entered. She was shocked when she saw the person sitting behind the desk. When they told her that the President called for her, she was expecting to meet some old man or at least someone in his middle age.
Not a handsome, hot, and dashing-looking young man like this. How did he become the president at such a young age? she thought but then remembered that she would have been the same if everything had worked out five years ago.
"Good morning, President Frost". Melody greeted knowing that she was here for a job and not as the employer.
Damian was completely drowned in her beauty. Earlier when he saw her on the road and at the reception desk, he could see that she was beautiful, but seeing her this close he could not take his eyes off her.
His heart was thumping loudly in his ears as he stared at her but he could not look away. To say a part of him didn't want to look away would not be a lie. He could not even find his voice to say a word while looking into those beautiful eyes of hers.
He snapped out of his trance when he heard the most melodic voice that he had ever heard. 'good morning President Frost'. These words have suddenly become some of his favorites.
Realizing that he had not said anything to her but just stared at her, he got a grip of himself and responded to her greetings.
"Good morning Miss Nova. Please have a seat".Damian said with a smile. Melody nodded and obediently went forward to sit down.
