"What should we do with him?" Smith asked. This was the reason he had brought her down here. He wanted to know what she would do when she faced a traitor like this one. There would be more to come in the future and she needed to get prepared and know how to deal with them effectively. Something that would make others think twice before they would betray her. She needed to prove that she was ready and prepared for her role and being kind-hearted was not how things were done in their world.
Melody looked at the man and then at Smith, she finally understood why she was there and why no one else came with them, though the reason she was given for why others stayed behind was reasonable, she now knew the deeper reason behind it.
